Flights to & from MAUI

Jules climbing all over the beach chair

It's rough being pushed around in my comfy seat

Playing with her new laptop

What's more peaceful then a sleeping baby

Our flight went about as expected. All of our connections were on time and no unexpected delays which was wonderful, we waited in a long line to take off at PHL. but it wasn't too bad. Our main concern that day was Jules and how to keep her occupied. She did pretty good - slept the whole way to PHL. The PHX flight was long , but fortunately the guy in the window seat helped entertain Jules, he has a traveling "buddy" (little rub toy- that's eyes pop out when you squeeze him) so he showed it to her and talked to her , which was nice to get a break. She slept maybe 45 min on our 4 hr 45 min flight. But we walked the aisles and she enjoyed looking at all the people. Our Maui flight was VERY long and our patience were running thin, but thankfully we had an open middle seat, since I asked the guy if he could sit in an open seat because that plane wasn't suppose to be full , he gladly agreed! So Jules had her own seat and we got her new laptop to play with and watched some baby videos on the laptop. She did great and loved climbing all over the seats and walking down the aisles again. We had a women in front of us (we call her girlfriend, because she kept calling Jules that) who talked to Jules and made noises, faces, etc to keep her entertained. But the last 2 hrs of our 6hrs 30min flight she had a breakdown and started crying really loud and we couldn't get her to stop, tried everything and she was not happy, so Randy walked her down the aisle and the flight attendants offered her some shortbread cookie, which she sorta calmed down, so I was relieved and so were the other mothers on the plane!! She was overtired, hot and hungry!! They stood at the back of the plane for a bit to cool off and feed Jules her cookie, a much needed break for me!! And then we arrived to MAUI and the LONG flight was worth it!!!
And the way back home was VERY tiring, since Maui time was 6 hours difference, we tried to sleep on the plane, and we did get some sleep in but with some interruptions. But it was good to get the long flight over with first. The flight to PHL. was uneventful Jules slept some and played at our feet when she would get restless or we would walk the aisles with her! Then we got stuck in PHL from 3-7:30, because of weather! I was so glad we had the stroller so she could sleep in the stroller and we could rest our arms!! We made it home at ~9pm. It was a LONG day overall but we are so thankfully we got to go and spend time with family!!

7:02 pm on March 13, 2009 she arrived in this world, (8 lb 8 oz. and 19.5 in) what a long day it was and the best day. Truly a miracle, SHE was our BIG surprise , a healthy baby GIRL Julianne Lynne !!

Where did the time go, I can't believe she is 1 years old (20lbs and 29in). She has lots of personality and doesn't meet a stranger , always friendly to everybody. She is a very happy baby and we feel very blessed and hope she stays that way through the toddler years. Julianne is a world traveler, she has flown to Kansas City twice, Florida, California, Hawaii, with layovers in Philly, Charlotte, Phoenix, and driven to Nebraska, so she has been to Missouri and Iowa and Delaware. We have loved watching her grow and change ! She has taught us how so much about love and patience. I am excited to see how she will change these coming years- but not too fast please!!
