Good Times with Poets and Pirates

We were able to enjoy a long day of great country music this past weekend. Randy's work (Froggy 99.9) had a listeners bus trip to M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore (Home of the Ravens) this past Saturday. It was Kenny Chesney and The Poets and Pirates Tour feauturing Gary Allan, Leann Rimes, Big and Rich, Brooks and Dunn and of course Kenny Chesney. We took off from the station studios at 10AM and did not return, thanks to traffic, until 2:30 on Sunday Morning! It was certainly a long day but very fun for both of us! Randy and his co-worker April were 'in charge' so that means we stopped at the Annapolis Mall so he could go to Chipotle! When we arrived in Baltmore traffic took us into the city a little to far and took the scenic route to the bus parking lot but it was fun to see the city and Jenna (Bush) Hager's new neighborhood! It was our first time in that stadium but we took our time going in because we knew we'd be in there for a while when we decided to go in. We went to Camden Yards (Orioles Park) and looked around for a while. We also saw a couple of 'Future Country Stars" on a side stage under an overpass between the stadiums. Phil Stacy who was a finalist on American Idol was one performer and the another was David Nail from Missouri. They were both pretty good. We saw a Tim McGraw look-a-like and we had to snap a shot of Jamie with him. Randy must now note when we saw the "Brooks and Dunn Hot Chicks" handing out fans Jamie refused to take his picture with them! We were hanging out with our friend and Randy's co-worker Randi all day. Randi had some pretty cool connections and got us into the press box in the middle of Big and Rich's performance so we saw them, B & D and Kenny from there. It was Kenny's record label who welcomed us in so we got to meet a lot of the Baltimore, Washington and surronding area radio people and it was really fun. All the perfomances were awesome and it was a really good time! The ride home was a little long as we were stuck in traffic for an hour and a half but did make it home safetly! Our bus driver actually used to haul the church teen group when Randy's Parents were sponsors so Randy and JR had plenty of reminising. Everyone was on thier best behavior, even April's husband Denis-well kinda! Jamie was most excited during Kenny's performance and Randy was wishing the Ravens were gonna take the field! Good times!
